The Contestants

Contestant 1

I did a brainstorm on the three main points that make an instrument popular. They were: it has to be unique; it has to be quite complicated; the person must look cool playing it. Well, there is one instrument that fits these requirements perfectly, and that is the bassoon. It is unique, it is complicated, and the player is instantly transformed into the coolest person in the room.

Contestant 2

It must be the ukulele - a mini version of the classical, wooden guitar. Although it's tiny and light as a feather, it has all the features of a classical guitar. Who wants an iPhone 4 when there is a lighter iPhone 5? Do you see my point? The ukulele will definitely become the "hottest" music item before long.

Contestant 3

Considering that most of the music we listen to now is mainly dubstep or electronic, the next best music item should be the kazoo. This small, simple instrument provides a buzzing sound which is similar to dubstep. It sounds funny so it draws attention. It's also easy to play - the person has to just sing or hum into the pipe.

Contestant 4

The next big thing in music will definitely be the ukelele. The best thing about it is that I don't need to take lessons. Even a bad musician like me can learn to play that instrument!

Contestant 5

Ladies and gentlemen, introducing a cappella! Traditional instruments such as the piano, drums and guitar has long dominated the music scene. I sense it is time for us to use the instrument we all have - our vocal chords! What is better than our own voice? Either that or this is a person who cannot play a musical instrument to save her own life.

Contestant 6

The ukulele is becoming more popular now. It's already been featured in several songs and YouTube videos. The stringed instrument is small and portable, looks like a cute guitar, and produces happy sounds. Everyone needs a bit of soothing music from time to time.

Contestant 7

The voice. Pentatonix and Cimorelli ... they ring a bell, right? They both use the one and only instrument - their epic voice! That's all it takes to get a million likes on their music video on YouTube. Who needs a guitar, piano, violin, trumpet and so on, when we have our voice? And it surely will be the next big music item because people just cannot stop loving a cappella groups!

Contestant 8

Nowadays, more and more people are falling in love with the ukulele. This is because it's easy to carry, and learn. Even my friend told me that it took her just six months to learn to play the ukulele. And she can't play any other musical instrument. Besides, the ukelele is versatile. It combines well with different instruments, including the piano and guitar. I'm looking forward to the ukelele becoming the next big music item!
