Every Wednesday we ask our Brain Game contestants one interesting, thought-provoking or just plain quirky question. Their answers will be published anonymously in Young Post. Then readers can vote for their FAVOURITE answer. We will eliminate the contestant with the LEAST votes every week until we have a winner. The ultimate Brain Game winner will win an Apple Watch Nike+!

Votes close at midnight on Sunday.

The contestants

Contestant 1

Suzanne Chan, aka Sway. She had such a tragic life in the comic books, that I think she’d be really nice and sensitive. She would definitely be more of a real friend than someone more shallow.

She has the ability to control time, which is so cool. I would ask her to do countless tricks, like freezing water droplets in the air so that I could poke them. Or, if we were on holiday together, she could prevent me from hurting myself if I happened to roll off a bed by putting pillows on the floor for me to land on!

Contestant 2

I’d definitely want to be friends with Magician. He is a skilled stage magician, an illusionist, and an animal trainer. Think of all the things we could do – street magic, or start a circus, for example. We could become famous travelling performers/superheroes.

Contestant 3

Kitty Pryde. Not only is she a very talented martial artist, she can pass through walls without hurting herself, which is so cool. How does she phase in and out of things without being noticed? That’s insane!

She is petite, like me, and like her, I also worry about fitting in. I am also worried about falling behind in my schoolwork, or in games, and I think Kitty would understand. Despite her obstacles, she is happy.

There is a saying: “Birds of a feather, flock together”. I say, “People of the same height, stick together”. Who knows, if I were her friend, I might be able to join the X-Men one day!

Contestant 4

Iceman, obviously. He has the power to instantly freeze water into ice. He can make ice slides beneath his feet, which he can use to move at a high speed. What an awesome way to travel. Not only is it environmentally friendly, it probably makes long journeys feel like amazing amusement rides.

If we were BFFs, I would ask him to take me on a journey around Hong Kong on his ice slides. If people asked us if they could join, I would ask Iceman to freeze them. That would teach them a lesson! He’s mine, people.

Contestant 5

Jean Grey would be my X-Men BFF, as she’s super powerful. Did you know that when her best friend, Annie, was killed after being hit by a car, Jean nearly died, too? That’s because she was mentally linked to Annie.

I think she’d be able to teach me how to deal with difficult situations. She’s also a teacher at the X-Mansion, so she could help me with my homework and protect me from danger. As Phoenix, she can rearrange or disintegrate matter, fly, survive in any harsh environment, and manipulate cosmic energies. If I had Jean by my side, nobody would be able to harm me, ever.
