Talented swimmer Siobhan Haughey is going to Rio Olympic Games next year, but right now she hopes to qualify in other distances at the Fina World Championships in Kazan, Russia.

The 17-year-old swimmer - and 2014 Student of the Year Sportsperson winner - Siobhan is representing Hong Kong in the World Championships. She has become the first Hong Kong swimmer to make the Olympic qualification A standard after she set a Hong Kong record in Sunday's women’s 200 metres individual medley.

Siobhan continues to compete in the World Championships in an attempt to qualify for other events of  the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Siobhan is competing in 100 metre freestyle tomorrow afternoon (HKT) and she stands the chance of getting into other Olympic events if she finished that at or under 54.43 seconds.

She will compete in the 50 metre freestyle on Saturday, and the Olympic qualifying time for that is 25.28 seconds.

From all of Young Post: good luck, Siobhan!
