Ed Sheeran confirmed his fans' worst nightmare today - his sold-out Hong Kong concerts, scheduled for November 4 and 5 at AsiaWorld Expo, have been postponed.
The singer-songwriter released details of his bicycle accident this morning, confirming fractures in his right wrist and left elbow.
Sheeran posted a photo of his arm in a sling on his Instagram account on Monday (Hong Kong time), saying he'd had the accident and was waiting for medical advice. Earlier today, he posted another pic of his hand in a cast and disappointing thousands of Sheerios across Asia.
A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future. Sadly, this means that the following shows will not be able to go ahead as planned: Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo and Hong Kong. I’m waiting to see how the healing progresses before we have to decide on shows beyond that. Please stay tuned for more details. PS - Ed isn’t typing this as he has both arms casted/bandaged.
Concerts in Taiwan, Korea and Japan are also affected.
The show's promoters recommend ticket holders wait for further information about upcoming shows and rescheduling.
Get well soon, Ed!
