Ed Sheeran is so popular in Hong Kong that tickets to his two November concerts sold out in just a couple of hours when they went on sale in June. Late last month, the venue was changed from AsiaWorld Expo's Hall 10 to the much larger Arena, and additional tickets were released.
But for the second time this year, following Justin Bieber cancelling the end of his Purpose tour, Hong Kong could be in for some bad luck with a megastar. The future of Sheeran's shows is now in the balance, following the award-winning British singer-songwriter's cycling accident at the weekend. Yesterday, Sheeran said that some upcoming shows could be cancelled, posting an image of his arm in a cast and a sling.
“I’ve had a bit of a bicycle accident and I’m currently waiting on some medical advice, which may affect some of my upcoming shows,” Sheeran told his 15.7 million followers on Instagram.
Britain’s Daily Mail said the accident happened in London on Sunday.
Sheeran is due to perform in Taipei on Sunday at the start of a massive Asia tour taking in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and India. He is also scheduled to play in the United Arab Emirates.
While we wait to hear more, here's Ed's latest single to keep your mind on happier things.
