North Korea may be preparing to launch another missile, says South Korea

Speculation of another missile launch comes after North Korea allegedly tests a hydrogen bomb on Sunday.

A lot happened yesterday after North Korea said it had tested a hydrogen bomb on Sunday. It said the H bomb is designed for a new ICBM. An Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile is one that is able to reach another continent.

Agencies were first alerted on Sunday when a magnitude 6.3 quake was detected in North Korea. A few hours later North Korea announced it had successfully carried out the test.

The UN Security Council met on Monday to discuss the issue. South Korea fired missiles into the sea as a “response” and United States warned of a “massive military response” to any threats from North Korea.

Sunday’s blast had a strength of 50 kilotonnes, defence ministry spokesmen told South Korea’s parliament.
