Spotify now lets you hear the unique musical tastes of cities around the world.

Music streaming service Spotify debuted a new interactive musical map on Monday, which highlights the different tastes in music from almost 1,000 cities in 60 countries. Hong Kong is one of the few cities in Asia with a Spotify-created playlist.

"This is music that people in one particular city listen to quite a bit, which people in other cities also do not listen to very much," says Eliot Van Buskirk on the Spotify Insights blog. "So it is, exactly, the music that makes them different from people everywhere else."

Our city has two playlists, updated twice a month: "The Sound of Kowloon HK" and "The Sound of Central District HK". Spotify says the playlists are a compilation of "the most distinctively popular songs in Hong Kong relative to the rest of the world".

Several of Hong Kong's top songs, such as Juno Mak's Unforgettable, Kay Tse's Xi Tie Jie, and Dear Jane's Never Be Alone, are featured in both playlists.
