From July 7, McDonald's will be letting you play chef to customise your own burgers with their Create Your Taste programme. Customers will use a touch-screen, self-serve menu that have been installed in two McDonald's chains, Festival Walk and Leighton Centre.
Instead of ordering off the menu, burger fans will be able to create their own original burgers using 28 different ingredients including three different types of buns, four types of cheese and 10 sauces. For the low-carb crowd, there is an option to replace the buns with lettuce.
The burger will be made by Burger Specialists who went through 720 hours of rigorous training to learn to create the perfect burger.
Also, customers won’t have to hang around waiting in confusing queues. Once they have ordered their burger they can wait at their table and the meal will be delivered.
This will happen in conjunction with the “My Signature Burger” scheme which allows customers to name and document their burger. If the combination of ingredients has not been registered yet, they will get a digital certificate claiming that their burger is one-of-a-kind.
