Students from Buddhist Chi King Primary School, Catholic Ming Yuen Secondary School and On Tat Estate in Kwun Tong boosted their art skills at a workshop conducted by United Overseas Bank at Art Central. In last weekend’s workshop, students sketched Anida Yoeu Ali’s installation, which features slogans about current affairs. Students were encouraged to build on the concept by making their own slogans.

Lui Yan-tung, 16, of Catholic Ming Yuen Secondary School, was intrigued by the sculptures. “They no longer need to follow the traditional static form,” she said. “In contemporary art, they can [use] a range of representations, such as kinetic sculptures or sculptures with video works.”

The event was part of UOB Art Academy’s outreach programme.
