Noodles, croissants, congee and other things our readers love for breakfast
We asked our readers what breakfast would give them the best start to their day. Here are some of our favourite answers
A sweet deal
My ideal breakfast would be strawberry pancakes with Nutella, because I love the way it all melts in your mouth. The first bite is super sweet â and I love sweet things â with steaming, silky chocolate flowing in your mouth like a river ⌠once youâve had one bite, you canât stop!

Ooh la la ...
I would have a croissant, with a glass of orange juice. I like this French-style breakfast because, like France, it just feels so romantic â and it will give me enough energy to tackle another new day.

Food with a view
Picture this: a slice of toast with honey, a cup of black tea, and a breathtaking view from a rooftop. How perfect is that?

Bread and breakfast
I like to have a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Sometimes, Iâll also have a piece of bread (raisin bread is my favourite). Having a good breakfast is important because it give us the energy we need to start our day!

So delicious!
I love to start my day with a steamed bun and some soybean milk. I canât think of anything better than chowing down on a mouthful of bun and then drinking some soybean milk. Sadly, I have to buy them and eat them on the way to school instead of at home.

Full of energy
For me, itâs fried eggs and bread for breakfast. This meal is tasty, nutritious, and will provide you enough energy for the whole day.

Congee is the way to go
I start my day with a bowl of congee called teng tsai jook made by my grandmother. It has fresh fish, dried shrimps, squid, beef, and peanuts. Itâs very nutritious and provides lots of energy. Also, on cold winter mornings, having a bowl of grandmaâs hot, home-made congee makes me feel warm and ready to tackle the day!

100 out of 100
A piece of bread, one sausage, and two poached eggs is the way to go. Itâs an inexpensive meal that will keep me healthy and full. Most importantly, the sausage and eggs would look like the number 100, which is what I need to keep in mind on the day of a maths test!

A noodle-y good meal
I would like to have noodles for breakfast. Theyâre one of my favourites, and they keep me going until lunch.

Easy-peasy oatmeal
I would start my day with a bowl of oatmeal. After a good nightâs sleep, I need to top up my energy levels, and oatmeal can do that. Itâs also really easy to make, which is why I think itâs the best meal for students in the morning.
