Keep it down!

I hate it when people talk really loudly on their phone in public. It’s annoying and it’s bad manners.

I can’t breathe

Every time I walk down the street in a crowded area, I can smell cigarettes. There’s always a few people near me smoking, and there’s no way to escape them. Smoking increases the chances of getting heart disease, lung cancer, and other serious illnesses. It doesn’t just affect the smokers, but people walking by, like me. I just can’t understand why people do it.

Move out of my way

It annoys me so much when I’m on the left side of an escalator (the side which you walk on) and someone decides to stand and wait there. Look, I’m in a hurry! It really stresses me out, because the people behind me get frustrated, too.

Keep your mouth closed

Noisy eaters make me so angry! Okay, to be fair, some people are just naturally noisy eaters and can’t help themselves. They aren’t to be confused with people who simply chew with their mouth open – these people CAN and SHOULD stop it!

What are you doing?!

Can you imagine a city swimming in a sea of spit? It is disgusting just

thinking about it. I hate seeing people spit on the ground. It is so unhygienic. Spitting spreads germs, and can make people ill. Spitting is an awful habit, and really, really, annoys me.

I love to shop

I am guilty of this bad habit. I’m a shopaholic, and I like to buy all sorts of useless, but expensive, items – from key rings to stuffed toys. I never have enough money for books. I really need to break this bad habit.

Lau Yee-yuen, 13, Immaculate Heart of Mary College

I’ll do it tomorrow

Procrastination is a bad habit that most of us have – including me. I always leave my homework until the last minute. It’s a terrible habit and I wish I could fix it.

Tony Lau, 17, Fung Kai Liu Man Shek Tong Secondary School

Just blow your nose, please

I really hate when people pick their noses! It’s horrible seeing people do it in public, especially on the MTR. I once found myself crammed into a train compartment, right next to someone picking their nose. I wanted to be sick. It’s a disgusting habit and I cannot stand it. Yuck!

Kelly Mok Ka-hei, 16, Carmel Secondary School

Stop chewing

It annoys me when people noisily chew the end of their pen. I hate sitting near someone like that in class, ruining their pen and making it all wet and sticky with their saliva. It makes me nauseous. Please stop!

Cheung Hiu-lam, 15, SKH Tsang Shiu Tim Secondary School

But does anyone care?

Do your friends share useless information on Facebook? Then your friends are oversharers. Whether it’s a passive-aggressive status update or a photo of their food, these oversharers insist on updating you on every aspect of their life. No one asks them to. Some people just seem to think they will die if they don’t post on social media at least once every hour.
