If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

We asked our readers: if you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Here are some of our favourite answers

Super spuds to the rescue!

Potatoes! There are so many different ways to cook them – fried, boiled, stewed, roasted, or even baked – that we’d never get tired of eating them.

They grow everywhere, even in places with poor climates, so we would never run out of them.

Plus, they’re nutritious: one red potato can contain 66 micrograms of the cell-building mineral folate. That’s about the same amount you’d get from one cup of spinach or broccoli. Also, one sweet potato has almost eight times your daily requirement of cancer-fighting and immune-boosting vitamin A.

#Chocoholic

I would like to eat chocolate for the rest of my life. Maybe I would be bored of chocolate after eating it every day for a year, but who cares? It would be the most wonderful year ever!

What’s the best cure for post-holiday blues?

From Undertale to on the table

Homemade butterscotch cinnamon pie, as seen in the game Undertale. There’s butterscotch, and cinnamon, which, in my opinion, is the best spice in the world! My family sometimes makes pie on holidays. We don’t make butterscotch cinnamon pie very often, so it is a very special moment when we do.

A classic black & white

Nothing would be better than Hong Kong style milk tea. Tea with creamy milk plus a cube of sugar, it is so good it’s almost magical. I drink it almost every morning and it makes me super energetic. Because of the stamina it gives me, milk tea would be my wise choice for the rest of my life.

Fishy fishy in the sea

I would eat salmon for the rest of life. It is really nutritious, as it contains Omega-3s, along with lots of high quality protein. Plus I can eat it either raw or cooked, so it is perfect for my laziness.

You want to keep the doctor away?

Apples, for sure. I already eat them every day and always enjoy them. They boost our immune system and reduce the risk of cancer. They can help me stay healthy, so it is a great food to eat for the rest of my life.

What rhymes with ‘nice’?

I would like to have rice for the rest of my life because there are so many different types, such as black rice, red cargo rice, and risotto. Rice is also good for our health, as it contains protein and minerals.

Junior reporters one thing to eat forever

It’s the sea for me

I would choose seafood. It is delicious, and it has a lot of protein that is good for our health. I would eat it forever, but it is too expensive.

I’m bananas for bananas

Burger bonanza!

It would rock my world if I had to eat hamburgers every day for the rest of my life, because you can have them in many different kind of combinations. They usually have cheese, meat, lettuce, bread, bacon, onion, pickles, tomatoes and condiments such as mustard and ketchup. All those different ingredients mean you’ll get a lot of different nutrients, and have a complete meal for me.

Beef is the chief

If I had to eat one food for the rest of life, I would choose beef. It is expensive, but also it has a lot of protein. Beside, you can cook it many different ways. I prefer Korean barbecue style!

Pizza shall live with me!
First of all because I am just in love with pizzas. They have an incredible taste, you get almost every type of food from the food pyramid .It has vegetables, cheese, meat and bread. The best thing about pizzas are that they are baked. Which is apretty healthy way to cook.
People might say that it has a lot of salt, but you can actually minimize the amount of salt you want on your pizza.
Also, you have unlimited choices for the toppings!
