YP beauty tricks and secrets - part 2

It's not just the girls on the YP team who have tips to share on looking good; our guys have gems to offer too! Here is some more great beauty advice ...

I try to drink at least 1.5 litres of water throughout the day. Not only just sipping on water all day mean I am always hydrated, it helps me stay awake, too.

We all know how important beauty sleep is. I try to get a good eight hours most nights, and I also make sure I drink plenty of water throughout the day.

For a more defined smoky eye, put sticky tape on the edge of your eyes - from your outer corner to the end of your eyebrow. This creates a more defined application that you can buff out later. It's better if you first stick the sticky tape to the back of your hand a couple of times, so it's not super sticky when you put it on your face. This way, it won't pull as harshly on your skin when you take the tape off.

Being well groomed doesn't mean you need to spend a long time getting ready or use a lot of fancy products. I don't really have a set routine or use hair gel myself, but every day before I leave the house, I always make sure my hair is combed and my clothes are neat and tidy.

My top tip for clean, fresh and shiny hair is to leave conditioner in for at least 30 seconds. It's simple, but it works!

Get a cheap mirror to hang in the shower so you can do your shaving there. The hot water and steam will help soften your stubble and open up your pores, making it easier to shave. Be sure to take your razor out of the shower once you're done, so it can dry out fully between shaves. And remember to slap on a moisturiser to sooth your skin afterwards.

Vaseline is possibly the second best eye makeup remover in the world, and so, so much cheaper than Lancome's Bi-Facil. And now you've invested in Vaseline, slather it on heels, dry knees, and elbows before bed time. But cover up with socks, long sleeves and long PJ pants... that stuff is hard to wash out of your sheets! You'll wake up to baby-soft skin. It's a great overnight under-eye mask too!
