Avengers-inspired looks: Captain America on holiday

Avengers-inspired looks: Captain America on holiday

This summer, Young Post is creating nine looks inspired by one of this year's biggest movies: Avengers: Age of Ultron. Each week we'll take a character from the blockbuster and interpret them into a wearable look. First up, Captain America as a beach boy! After being frozen for so long, he'd probably appreciate some sun and sand …

There is a way to wear red, blue and white without looking like you've wrapped yourself in the American flag.

Colour blocking - wearing solid colours - is a great option. But if that's too bold for you, pick one colour to be the primary shade, and work in the others as accents or background.

Tousled hair

Nailing that beachy look starts with your hair. Boys or girls can adapt this look, and it works on both short and long hair.

Use sea salt spray generously over dry hair and then blow dry it away from your face. As you blow dry, use your fingers to comb your hair away from your face and tease it between your fingers to add texture. Then, use your fingers to mess it up a little; the sea salt spray has a little bit of hold. If your hair is thick or heavy and this technique doesn't work very well, use small amounts of hair clay or wax for extra hold after using the sea salt spray. Finish off by spraying all over with hair spray.

Make Up For Ever Shine On Powder #6 (HK$260 at MUFE)

That beachy glow

If you're not against using make-up to look sun-kissed, add a golden glow using a bronzer or highlighter. A champagne gold is universally flattering, so don't worry if you've never used a bronzer or highlighter before. Just take a small fluffy brush, swirl it in the product, and then sweep it over your cheekbones, middle of your forehead and down your nose. Buff it out with a large powder brush to avoid harsh lines. It will create the ultimate glow that will catch the light as you bask in the sun.
