When asked: “What is something that is carried by a lifeguard?”, what comes to mind?

A whistle, maybe. Sunscreen might be another one of your answers. What else? In 94%, the object of the game is pretty simple – find 94 per cent of all given answers to a question. There are a whole host of different categories full of questions, pictures, or statements to find answers to, and although it sounds pretty straightforward, in reality it’s actually quite challenging.

Your brain-teasing journey begins on Level One. Once you’ve earned your star, a new level is unlocked for you to tackle. You can also earn coins along the way, which can be exchanged for hints when you get stuck for answers. Save up these coins, as you’ll need them. Some of the seemingly-simple questions might have some pretty unusual answers that you won’t be able to guess without these hints – though if you do, relish that feeling of victory that washes over you when you finish that level.

94% is a super entertaining game, and available for anyone with access to a smartphone – no gaming console needed. It’s something fun and easy to play when you’re stuck on the MTR, or waiting for your food to arrive. Scimob, the independent game studio behind the app, have been developing mobile quiz games since 2012. Other apps from them include 94 Seconds, 94 Degrees, Word Academy, and Kezako. 94%, like many of their other apps, are designed to push users into engaging their brains and the limits of their knowledge of things they never even realised they knew.

I love this game, and I’d give it a solid four out of five. It’s one of my favourite apps – and if you download it, I’m sure it would be yours too. Are you up for the challenge?
