Drake's new album proves he's an artist with no comparison [Review]

No one is quite sure whether it's an album or a mixtape, but one thing is for certain: the new release from Drake confirms him as the world's leading hip hop voice.

If You're Reading This It's Too Late dropped without warning last month, Beyoncé-style. It is the Canadian's first full release since 2013's groundbreaking Nothing Was the Same.

On Jungle, Drake proves he's the artist right now who can switch effortlessly between rap and R&B on the same track.

In fact, Drake's versatility is breathtaking. He shows he can spit it with the best of them on 6 God with lines like "Yeah my sound got the whole city in your way right now / So I don't care about what anybody's sayin' right now".

Legend slows things down a little, and you aren't quite sure whether Drake's boasting or terrified when he sings "Oh my God / if I die / I'm a legend." The track also shows that Drake knows how to use autotune to great effect, without overdoing it.

Alongside Kanye, Drake is redefining what rap music can be. And we can't wait to see what he comes up with next.
