Collabro's debut album Stars is a mix of One Direction's style and Il Divo's sound [Review]

After winning this year's Britain's Got Talent, the five members of Collabro have certainly been keeping themselves busy. Just two months after winning the TV contest, they've already released their first studio album, Stars.

The album is a compilation mainly of songs taken from musicals. It kicks off with its title track, from Les Misérables, which won them their contract with Simon Cowell's label, Syco Music.

This is followed by Bring Him Home, from the same musical. Though the song is written to be sung by an old man, Collabro nail it with outstanding maturity. Their voices intermingle with soft delicacy.

We've heard enough covers of Let It Go from Frozen to last us through Christmas, but Collabro's take is one of the album's highlights. The perfect harmonies will give you goosebumps.

But Collabro sometimes try too hard. Some of the songs, like Somewhere (from West Side Story), are just too overwhelming.

The cover of OneRepublic's Secrets is also too slow and lacks the emotional intensity that made the original song so gripping.

Still, the band looks like One Direction and sounds nearly as good as Il Divo - what more can you ask for?

Omg. what's with bands? All of them are now copying one direction. This is so Mad. But whatever They are the WALMART version only, or should I say made in china version. You can never replace fakes with originals.
