Linkin Park's debut album, Hybrid Theory, was pretty groundbreaking back in 2000, as the idea of combining metal with rap was still fairly new.
But on top of the novelty, it featured some great songs that made the band stand out from their "nu-metal" peers like Korn, Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock.
Since then the sound has become a little cliched, but Linkin Park still remain massively popular. Across a diverse career, they've worked with Jay-Z (who saw that coming?) and also experimented with electronica.
Now the band's sixth album, The Hunting Party, is more of a return to their roots. Guilty of the Same rocks hard with heavy riffs, Chester Bennington's shouty, screamy vocals, and a smooth transition to a rapped verse.
But Linkin Park are at their best on tracks like Wastelands, an epic song driven forward by pounding drums that eventually give way to a hip-hop beat.
All in all, this is a solid album. It might not sound as fresh as it once did, but Linkin Park still knows how to stir the emotions.
