Nicole Kidman portrays novelist Virginia Woolf in "The Hours", a role for which she won Best Actress at the 75th annual Academy Awards.

Standing in the eighth position in the Chinese zodiac, the goat (or sheep) is known for its intelligence, dependability, calmness, nurturing nature and, above all, creativity.

This year, goats can expect a smooth career path, generally good health and luck in love, but they should be careful with their money.

While at work, goats prefer to be part of a flock rather than working alone, their creativity makes them perfect for some "solo" careers, such as interior designers, florists, hairstylists, illustrators, editors, actors, and musicians.

In fact, some of our favourite performers are goats. Here's hoping the predictions for goats' careers proves true for this quintet.

Shailene Woodley

The American actress had her big break in The Descendants alongside George Clooney, but she is better known for playing Tris in the Divergent series and Hazel Grace in The Fault in Our Stars.

Born on November 15, 1991, Woodley truly encapsulates the spirit of the goat. She uses that great well of creativity in her craft, but is also very caring and generous: she held a special screening of The Fault in Our Stars and raised US$60,000 for charity, and when she lopped off her locks to play Hazel, she sent them to an organisation that creates wigs for children with cancer.

"She is very individual … She has a strong sense of identity, and she also had a strong sense of the character and how she wanted to play it," says Woodley's Divergent co-star Theo James of her talents.

Dylan O'Brien

Not many people would complain about getting lost with the handsome star of The Maze Runner.

Born on August 26, 1991, Dylan O'Brien is known for his roles in The Internship and The Maze Runner. He also plays "Stiles" Stilinski in the MTV series Teen Wolf, which marked his acting debut.

Cute and funny, O'Brien made short, comic videos for his YouTube channel before he took up acting and used to play drums in a band called Slow Kids at Play.

People that have worked with O'Brien call him a calm, creative and genuine guy who always gets along with everyone he meets, epitomising a lot of the key characteristics of a goat.

Mick Jagger

Mick Jagger, is a musical goat who has been influencing people for more than 50 years.

The English musician is best known as the frontman, lead vocalist and founder of The Rolling Stones, the rock band that he helped set up in 1962.

Born July 26, 1943, Mick Jagger has long set the bar high when it comes to proving what goats are capable of. Rolling Stone magazine ranked the band fourth on the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time" list, and their estimated album sales are above US$250 million.

Jagger has also been successful as a solo artist, with his debut studio single Just Another Night reaching number 32 in the UK chart and number 12 in the US.

In 2003, he was knighted for his services to music.

Ed Sheeran

The popular singer and songwriter from Britain was born on February 17, 1991. Ed Sheeran was nominated for the album of the year at this year's Grammy Awards for his album, X. His song, All Of The Stars features on the soundtrack for the film, The Fault in Our Stars.

He has claimed that he wants to be known as a hard-working person as hard work is something he values greatly.

He is known to always make time for his fans, and has said in the past, "It takes no time to be nice," which aligns with the gentle and caring nature of the goat.

Nicole Kidman

Born on June 20, 1967, Nicole Kidman is widely recognised for her achievements in the film industry. She has won several Golden Globe awards, an Academy Award and a Bafta, proving just how successful goats can be.

Kidman is said to be an extremely hard working actress, but admitted in an interview that she was very, very shy as a child and preferred being alone. Acting, she said, helped her step out of her comfort zone.
