Having attended the program for more than a week now, I feel more confident and comfortable during class participation. The class atmosphere, which has a lot of interaction, encourages us to speak up, and answer questions even if we are unsure about our answers. The instructors, Eric and Erica, are friendly yet professional. They conduct the class in a fun and efficient manner.

To build up our confidence, and to help us familiarize with business concepts, the course requires us to do a presentation and compete in a case competition at the end, in addition to normal classes which serve to consolidate our business knowledge.

Our presentations are based on the case-study method that Ivey is well-known for. I think it is an efficient way to learn as we immediately apply what we learn in class to real-life situations. We get to step into the shoes of businessmen and make business decisions. These include marketing strategies, internal firm structure, pricing decisions, etc.

In addition, the presentations also give us the chance to work with our teammates, as we discuss and combine our thoughts into one final piece of group work. Cooperation and team spirit are vital in the workplace, and these opportunities further enhance our abilities to work with people.

Though the program has yet to be finished, I think I will miss it when it is over, as it offers me insights into business and networking opportunities.
