Week of May 21

You have probably heard these news terms being discussed in the papers or on TV. This is how to use them in English:

1. 平反 - vindicate

Student-activist group Scholarism held a march on Sunday in protest over Beijing's refusal to vindicate the June 4, 1989, Tiananmen movement.

2. 好戰的 - trigger-happy

The Philippine coastguard has been accused of being trigger-happy - behaviour said to be common in a nation that inherited its gun culture from the United States, and whose armed services are not known for their discipline.

3. 躲避 - dodge

Lawmakers accused former ICAC commissioner Timothy Tong Hin-ming of dodging questions and wasting time during the Legco Public Accounts Committee meeting.

4. 低調處理手法 - low-profile tactics

Police said an arrest warrant had been issued in January last year, but the actual arrest took place much later because they were using "low-profile" tactics.

5. 熊抱 - bear hug

Ho Kit-ming said she was held in a bear hug by a male policeman from behind during a protest against the chief executive.

I Hope Ho Kit-ming is okay after that bear-hug. Once I also was in a similar situation. And I'd fail my exam, if I did not think ahead and use ****essaywritersonline.org
That was too stressful, and I thought I would not survive that day.
