In recent decades, traditional dim sum has waned in popularity for chefs in training. To revive this fine art among the new generation of budding young chefs, Young Post and The Peninsula Hong Kong are holding the Dim Sum Talented Chef Competition. The grand winner will receive a two-year apprenticeship to learn from the world's finest dim sum chefs at The Peninsula Hong Kong, The Peninsula Beijing and The Peninsula Shanghai.

Ten contestants will be selected to attend a full-day dim sum workshop organised by The Peninsula. If you are interested in pursuing a career in the industry, this is an amazing opportunity to learn more about the cooking techniques of how to make good dim sum and the career prospects that this job entails.

Eligibility

Contestants should be:
- Permanent residents of Hong Kong
- Aged 22 and under
- Available to take part in the competition which will run on June 22 and July 18

To enter:

Contestants should:

- create one dim sum item, take a photo and write up the recipe

- Prepare up to 200 words in Chinese or English telling the story behind your dim sum, and illustrating your passion for traditional Chinese dishes
