The first Young Post Junior Reporters’ Awards will be held on December 22, onboard the Star Pisces ocean liner. The event kicks off at noon and will end at 4pm. The vessel will remain docked at Ocean Terminal, Tsim Sha Tsui, for the duration of our celebration.
Young Post’s Junior Reporters’ club helps young people with their English writing and potential journalism careers. Over the years we run a variety of programmes which give our readers the chance to sharpen their writing skills and gain confidence in meeting and speaking to peers and older people.
The Awards ceremony is a chance for us to celebrate their hard work and contribution to Young Post.
The young guests will be treated to: welcome beverage, a tour of the boat – including the bridge – a buffet lunch, some fun games, and finally the prize-giving ceremony, which will honour outstanding Junior Reporters. All activities will be supervised at all times by staff from Young Post and Star Cruises.
If you are dropping your child off, you can bring them to the designated meeting place in Ocean Terminal at 11.50am. They will be back at the meeting place from 4pm onwards. Each Junior Reporter will be assigned to a team headed by an adult and, if need be, parents will be given the team leader’s contact details.
Reporters need to bring with them their HK Identity Card and /or passport, and must give us their full name and ID or passport number when they pick up their tickets.
We know this event is going to offer your children a wonderful opportunity to bond with other youngsters who are as motivated by and interested in journalism as they are.
