Kana Nishino might not be as well known internationally as her counterparts Hikaru Utada and Ayumi Hamasaki, but is plenty popular in her native Japan, with her two previous albums reaching number one there. She goes for the trifecta with her fourth studio album, Love Place.

The album has already spawned four hit singles including Our Song (私??) and No Matter How ... (??? ????...). Our Song is a pleasant romantic ballad with cheery vocals about her love for her significant other, while the latter is a slower piano ballad. But it's still pacey, and her powerful voice definitely gives it some oomph.

If you're more a fan of faster tracks, definitely check out Is This Love?. The club-ready song features electronic sounds, popping beats and high-energy vocals which you'll struggle to resist dancing to. Day 7 is also worth a listen as the R&B-meet-J-pop track evokes memories of Brian McKnight's hit single, Back at One.

Overall, Nishino has put together another entertaining album that offers something for everyone. She should have no problem scoring that desired hat trick of numbers ones.
