The device, which goes on sale on September 28, will be a localised version for Hongkongers featuring the option of a Traditional Chinese language system user interface. The console will come in either white, or blue/black.
The 3DS XL will feature larger screens than its predecessor - a welcome change when you're playing 3D games - and longer battery life. The top screen is now 124mm wide and the bottom screen 106 mm. The battery life has been increased by 86 per cent, but the console is also 46 per cent heavier at 335 grams. Each Nintendo 3DS XL will come with an AC adapter, stylus, 4GB SDHC Memory Card and six AR cards.
New titles to help launch the new "super-sized" handheld include Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Nintendogs and Cats and Biohazard Revelations, priced at HK$349. Two new colours for the regular 3DS will also be launched on the same day, "Cerulean blue" and "Shimmer pink" (HK$1,499).
If you're a Nintendo gaming fan, I'd definitely advise reserving your 3DS XL at your local store; they will get snapped up.
