One for the R&B collection

R&B superstar Jennifer Hudson is back with a sophisticated new album I Remember Me. The album's dozen tracks showcase Hudson's talent perfectly from the classy Why Is It So Hard to the jazzy Feeling Good.

Fans will notice a tighter sound and a more focused approach, stemming from her increasing maturity.

Produced with the help of such musical giants as Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo and R.Kelly, I Remember Me is an excellent R&B album.

The lead single Where You At is what you would expect from a song produced by R.Kelly: catchy and snazzy. The instant ear-worm has a solid beat that meshes perfectly with Hudson's wide range. She sings straight from the heart, infused with feeling.

Her voice also lends itself perfectly to the gospel track, Believe. Drawing on personal tragedies and hardships, the track embodies the soul genre.

In a different direction, Everybody Needs Love has a distinct dash of disco in a decidedly sunny and upbeat track. Hudson continues to show off her vocal variety in this fast-paced love anthem with obvious influences of modern pop.

I Remember Me is a worthy addition to any R&B enthusiast's musical library. If you like Jennifer Hudson, or just love R&B, this album will not disappoint.
