Ever since Camp Rock premiered in 2008, Jonas Brothers fans have been awaiting a sequel. It's happened, but sadly it wasn't worth the wait.

Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam reprises the roles of rock-star brothers and band mates Shane (Joe Jonas), Jason (Kevin) and Nate Gray (Nick). As Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato) and the other campers arrive at Camp Rock, they realise an upstart camp, Camp Star, is operating across the lake. Although they are very neighbourly at first, Camp Star soon turns hostile, actively recruiting campers and offering to double the salaries of staff who jump ship.

As events unfold, the two camps agree to a final showdown jam, dubbed Camp Wars, which threatens the future of the more modest Camp Rock. Meanwhile the budding romance between Shane and Mitchie becomes strained as the pressure mounts to outperform Camp Star.

The sequel has your usual herds of teens breaking out into song and dance routines every so often. Some of the songs are brilliantly catchy, but Lovato's awful lip "syncing" is more like one of those old kung fu flicks dubbed into English.

You'd expect more from Disney, even in a TV movie. There's not much to pull you into the story unless you're a JB fan.

Sadly for non-fans, Camp Rock will probably stay open for one more summer.
