Imagine if your classroom setting was based on your score in a placement test. Score highly and get into class A where you'll get the latest laptops, comfy leather seats and a stocked pantry. Do poorly and be relegated to class F where everything is falling apart. In Baka to Test to Shokanju, this is the fate of all those considered baka, or idiots.

High school student Akihisa Yoshii is appalled when he enters his new classroom to find the tables are falling apart and there's a chilling breeze coming through the walls and windows. He can't help but envy the class A students who have the best of everything.

Akihisa wound up in class F not because he's an idiot (although he isn't the brightest bulb in the pack) but because he left the exam hall to take Mizuki Himeji to the nurse. Both of them, of course, failed.

Mizuki is still sick and the shabby classroom is not helping. Akihisa rallies the rest of Class F to wage an "avatar battle" with the higher-ranked classes so they can get better facilities. Each student has a virtual warrior whose power is based on their latest test scores. So class F should have a slim chance of winning. Luckily Mizuki is incredibly smart and is actually ranked second in the school.

While the rest of class F battles class E, Mizuki can catch up on tests, build up her score and avatar, and maybe - just maybe - turn the tide.

Baka to Test to Shokanju is out on DVD/Blu-Ray now.
