Want to see your writing in print? Our annual summer writing competition is back and we want your stories! If you think you can wow us with your words, get your writing flow on and you could have your work published in Young Post.

This year’s theme is:

The rise of the underdog

You can interpret this however you want. Be imaginative!

What you need to do:

  • Write a story that is 1,500-2,000 words long.
  • The story must be all your own work and set in Hong Kong.
  • On your story’s first page, write your name, age, school, and contact phone number.
  • Email [email protected] with “Underdog” in the subject field and attach your story and a jpg photo of yourself (we accept selfies!)

The top entries will be published in our summer editions.

The closing date for entries is June 23

Terms & Conditions
The contest is only open to secondary school students in Hong Kong.
The competition is not open to South China Morning Post staff or their families.
The judges’ decision is final.
